M...Bless you Rachel, for raising Autism awareness!! My son Rick with Asperger's (on the Autism Spectrum) at the age of 3. He's had a tough childhood, but this June he managed to graduate from high school with a diploma!! Lucky for us, we live in California where there are great services for those with disabilities. Besides special ed, we got in-home behavior services, respite care, summer programs, and mental health services. Yes all these were paid for by the California taxpayer. But now at 18 he is able to drive, have friends, have a job, and maybe go to college next year. Most kids with disabilites will progress if they are provided with services.
